Batchelor Holiday Park

After a long drive, we were told late at night that Booking.com had made an error and we had to pay more for the cabin. They’d had all day to let us know. They insisted on upgrading us, first asking $170 instead of the $100 we’d booked for, then settling at $130. It felt like they were trying to scam us. The cabins are average. Don’t stay here if you want to avoid that sort of hassle.

Cabin 7 was a great base for driving to Litchfield attractions, and it had everything we needed for two nights. The bush setting was peaceful, and we loved watching the birds being fed. Staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Thanks for the hospitality. Good value for money, and there’s a pool too. We’d definitely recommend it.

The grounds were nicely kept, with gorgeous birds, and I enjoyed the clean pool. Our unit was clean and functional, and the gentleman who greeted us was friendly. A new toilet seat, shower curtain and shower head, plus a fresh sofa throw or fitted cover, would make a big difference to the basic accommodation’s first impression. Still, it was a pleasant overnight stay.

We stayed three nights, and on the first evening the owner cooked delicious dumplings, which made the visit even more enjoyable. It was fun watching the birds being fed, and getting around with the van was easy thanks to all the space to maneuver. There was also a bin and a crate for recycling bottles and cans, a nice touch. We had such a lovely time at the park. Thank you 🙂
