A few practical touches could make the stay even better. Four airline-style milk pods weren't enough for tea and coffee, so a container of at least 300ml would help. There was also plenty of room for useful towel rails, but none. We found the best price, $132, through a Google Maps app search that led to Booking.com. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable for an overnight stay, with a small dining table and chairs. Outside, there’s a substantial covered dining area beside, but separate from, the pool. The motel is close to the beach, though unfortunately there’s no view of it. Several coastal walks are nearby, and Bowlo is 600m away on foot, with other places to eat close by. The smoke-free setting was appreciated, and there’s an onsite cafe for breakfast or brunch. Management were very friendly. Recommend.

The hosts, Maryanne and Jose, are delightful, and the location is perfect. Take the Coast Trek to Crackneck lookout and beyond. Though the Bay House Motel has an old-fashioned facade, it’s been tastefully reimagined inside. The rooms feel fresh and modern, with new furnishings and thoughtful touches I’ve often missed even in 5 star hotels, like free biscuits, pretzels, tea and coffee, plates, wine glasses and cloth napkins.

We arrived late, and the lady who met us was so warm and welcoming. Breakfast included in the morning was a lovely bonus, and the bed was super comfortable. The hot shower was honestly one of the best I've had. The motel was really clean and quiet, with everything needed for a great stay. Couldn't have asked for a better stopover, would definitely stay again.

A handy beachside place to stay, with a very good cafe attached. The rooms are fairly simple, but the recent renovation has left everything clean and fresh. The management and owners were very friendly.

Maryann and Jose went above and beyond for us. We loved every part of our stay at the Bayhouse, the accommodation was beautiful and absolutely clean. Thanks so much for taking such brilliant care of us. We highly recommend it.
