Batemans Bay Marina Resort

We wished we'd booked a few more days. It was an incredibly relaxing holiday, with a stunning villa and breathtaking views. The beach was moments away and the scenery was spectacular. The pool was expansive and kept at the perfect temperature, and the service was exceptional throughout. Carts and bikes were a fun, convenient extra. It felt very safe and was wonderfully welcoming for children, so family-friendly.

The rotating food vans made dinner feel like a mini food festival every night, and none of the kids complained about the food. Shops and local amenities are nearby, so we didn't have to load the car as if we were moving for six months. There was plenty to keep the kids busy without making the place feel over-scheduled. We even managed to finish a coffee while it was still hot. The staff were attentive in a way that felt personal and genuine, and everything was easy and friendly. The grounds were clean and tidy but didn't have that 'don't touch anything' feel. We came for a relaxed getaway and started wondering if we could stay forever. It's relaxed family fun, and the kids are already planning which food vans they want next time. We'll be back.

The water pipes were very noisy, enough that guests in the cabin next door mentioned it too. That was the one thing that really frustrated us. We were in a three-bedroom economy cabin as a family. It was clean and presented well, though a bit dated, which wasn't a deal breaker. When our car broke down, staff kindly squeezed us in for another night at short notice, which we really appreciated. There are plenty of facilities: a pool, covered games area that looks like it may once have been a restaurant, clean BBQs with oil, paper towels and cleaning gear, a jumping pillow, tennis courts, bike hire and mini golf. Fishing is easy to get to, and the park overlooks the bay beside the boat ramp. If your cabin is toward the back, it's a bit of a walk to the front coffee van and donut business. Resort staff were friendly and helpful throughout. A solid stay, with good facilities and staff.

The coffee stand opposite the parking area was a highlight, with A grade coffee and sweet and savoury snacks. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially Rachel at front Reception, who was a pleasure to talk to. We stayed in a basic two-bedroom cabin that was clean and comfortable. The resort is about five minutes from the CBD and 20 minutes from Mogo. With an outdoor pool, tennis courts, fire pits and BBQ facilities, there are plenty of reasons not to leave. It's ideal for families with kids. We didn't have children in our group, but I can imagine this becoming a highlight of many kids' childhood memories. We were thoroughly pleased and will return.
