The salad was mostly red capsicum with hardly any greens, and the steak sandwich came covered in a sweet sauce. The chicken schnitzel was bad too, almost like nugget-compound chicken, breaking into little pieces when cut. The owners sat in the middle, controlling and rude to the staff. The tap beer wasn’t cold.

The food was exquisite and didn’t disappoint. We were welcomed warmly as soon as we came in, ordering was quick and easy, and the staff chatted with us while we waited.

The woman serving drinks was great, but the meal and service were hard to forget for the wrong reasons. We waited an hour and 15 minutes for the food. When it finally arrived, the mash was stone cold, and the vegetables were cold too, with a strange tang that was probably from being frozen.

There was live music out the back, which was good to see. It seems like one of the rougher pubs in town, with some interesting characters and a pokies room. Fine for a drink if you’re passing by.
