We first thought we’d found a great little place, but we won’t be coming back. After the kids had been swimming and showered, we called to ask for clean towels. The host came by and said he had better things to do than bring fresh towels to our room on a Saturday afternoon. That felt unprofessional and disappointing.

For a budget overnight stay, the room was okay and the price was good value. It’s about an hour’s drive from Surfers Paradise. My call with reception was the bad part: the staff member sounded rushed and was rude, even asking, “Do you want the room or not?” It felt intimidating. The hotel itself was okay, but the front desk experience needs a lot of improvement.

We used the lock box to collect the key, so we didn’t interact with staff. The motel was clean and comfortable, and the location was great. We stayed three nights, but our room wasn’t serviced daily for some reason. Hundreds of bats in the nearby trees got noisy and smelly around 3:30 am. Luckily, it wasn’t unbearable.

The air-con worked well, but the beds were so uncomfortable I could feel the springs. I had to take a blanket from the shelf and lie on it with the pillows just to get to sleep. The customer service was non-existent and I didn’t feel welcome at all. Wouldn’t recommend 👎
