The one thing I really appreciated was being able to order good room service from the restaurant downstairs. When I mentioned the shower problem to the food delivery staff and asked for towels, housekeeping came quickly and cleaned it up. But my first complaint to reception the next morning was handled with no apology or even an effort to note my room number. I was just told they’d tell housekeeping. I called reception several times around 6:30 that evening and nobody picked up. The shower flooded again that night. Water pooled around my feet, then took about ten minutes to drain, so the bathroom flooded badly each time. The bed also seemed worn out, sinking where I lay but firm in the middle. Along the carpet edge by the kitchen tiles, exposed nails kept catching my bare feet. The spa was lukewarm and barely had any jets. I don’t often leave reviews, but I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. I was seriously disappointed by the lack of care or apology when I first reported the shower.

I use a wheelchair full time and need a shower chair. The accessible rooms used to have excellent wall mounted fold down seats, but those have been removed, and nobody could explain why. The website still shows them. The replacements offered have armrests, so I can’t use them. Accessibility here has been significantly reduced. My photos show the unsuitable replacement, the holes left behind where the old seat was, and an example of the good seats, which plumbing suppliers widely stock.

The pool, sauna and gym are great, though they’re shared with the apartment building next door. I’ve stayed a few times, and the rooms have always been clean, nice and comfortable, with good beds. Some rooms can be noisy, and a few staff members I’ve encountered have been rude and short on customer service. That part could be better. Still, I’d recommend it if you need somewhere in the area.

The rooms are okay and have the main appliances, but the details let the place down. The kitchenette has a cooktop, sink, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge, yet three doors don’t fit properly. There was only one tiny sachet of dish liquid and no dishwasher powder. Cutlery and dishes were so limited that cooking anything beyond toast or a ready meal would be difficult. The armchairs were small and only suited to casual use. You have to request cleaning and bed making, and the door tag is hit and miss. When housekeeping does come, it’s poor: floors aren’t vacuumed, beds are roughly made or left undone, towels stay on the floor and bins aren’t emptied. The corridors smell of cheap cleaners and air freshener, and the carpets are grubby. They aren’t air conditioned, so they get stuffy in summer, especially if your room is far from the lift. Some rooms are a long walk from it. There are no opening windows, so the room feels sealed up, and the air conditioning is harsh enough that I needed a jumper. On my last day it stopped working and the room became a sweatbox. They moved me, but the air conditioning there wasn’t working either, though at least air was circulating. It was convenient for work, and the rooms cover the headline items, but I found the overall experience very disappointing. I’m sure there are better options for the money.
