The renovations have left the place looking and working really well. I liked the food too, but my creamy garlic prawns came with so few prawns that the dish felt more like garden salad and chips, with prawns on the side.

The dining room was clean and fresh, and the atmosphere was really nice. My friends were happy with their Mermaid Chicken, Schnitty and Lamb Cutlets. My own food was disappointing: the brisket burger was pretty average and had no real BBQ flavour, and the chips were plain salted despite the website saying rosemary salted. I also took home a Pesto Prawn Pizza for lunch the next day, but the pesto overwhelmed everything else and I threw it away. Four stars for the food, though otherwise it’s a very nice place.

We went to Bellbird Hotel on a Saturday for the all-you-can-eat breakfast, and the buffet had a good spread of food and fruit, with top-class juices. The two women working in the bistro made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived, chatted with us about the eatery and the Hotel's roots, and were lovely throughout. We didn’t stay overnight, so I can’t speak to the rooms. Would we go back? Bloody oath. Thanks for such a warm welcome! Deb x

The food is great and the menu is good, with a very experienced chef and excellent staff. The hotel has plenty of parking and has been newly renovated. There are lots of tables in the restaurant, plus outdoor seating with a ceiling heater in winter and a mist fan in summer.

The pub downstairs looked much more promising than the room. It was musty and damp, and when I first went in I had to use my inhaler for the first time in a year. The window wouldn’t close properly either. It felt more like a haunted love hotel than somewhere to spend the night. We lasted 20 minutes, then chose to sleep in our van in a field instead.
