At $265 a night, we expected better, especially after seeing the new paint job. It felt like the old quirky, slightly grimy backpackers had kept the same basic setup, while the price had climbed to four star levels for two star accommodation. We got the “best” corner room, but it had no aircon, just a noisy fan moving hot, smelly air around. There were no screens on the door, so we had to choose between leaving it open and dealing with mozzies all night or shutting it and sweating under that fan. No bar fridge either, and the bathroom was shared with at least three other rooms. There was a funky human smell in the room. We worked out the duvet cover smelled like it hadn't been washed for months. Gross. The bathroom smelled like the same person had been in there, and the whole place needs a proper clean. It's right in town, which is a great location, but not worth the price.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff were very nice, and both the room and bathroom were really clean. The only thing keeping it from five stars was how hot the upstairs rooms got overnight. Absolutely great hostel otherwise.

We stayed in the upstairs apartments, which were quiet, and had an easy trip into the middle of the main town. The guesthouse was clean and tidy, with a beautiful view, shared amenities, and friendly staff and travellers. On our first stay the mattress wasn't very comfortable. We came back and stayed in a different room, where the mattress was great.

I was after somewhere close to the brewery and main street, and this place was just right, less than a minute's walk away. The amenities were clean, and the little verandah was a nice spot to unwind. It's tucked into a cute, rainforest type setting, and you can even hear the moo moos in the paddock next door. A lovely lady showed me around the guest house when I arrived, sorry, I've forgotten her name 😅. A friendly man saw me off. Thanks for having me x

The big communal kitchen was handy for us as a family when we wanted to prepare a picnic, and Dale was a great host with really good knowledge of places to visit. This was one of my favourite stops on our trip. The location was great, and the rooms were good value for money.
