The grounds are lovely to wander around, and even under cloudy skies the stone buildings make great photo backdrops. Inside, the Book Barn feels both cozy and grand, with tall shelves packed with books, big timber beams and rustic chandeliers. It’s a great place to settle in for a long lunch. The food was a real highlight. The blue cheese pizza had a thin, crisp base with rocket and pine nuts, and the linguine came dressed with fresh herbs and micro-greens. The ingredients tasted fresh and carefully chosen. We also enjoyed the red wine, which suited the vineyard setting and rustic Italian-style food perfectly. From the huge “corkscrew and hammer” sculpture at the entrance onward, the place feels distinctive. The staff were welcoming too. Thanks for a wonderful visit.

We didn’t stay overnight, just came for dinner, and had a brilliant time. There were so many vegan choices, which felt like a real privilege. The sourdough was a surprise favourite, with a great char, crumb and texture, and the dukkah alongside it was spot on. The meal was full of well-balanced flavours, and the staff made the night with their bubbly, fun manner. Compliments to the chef, it was a stunning meal. We also had a blast strolling through the gardens. One of my favourite restaurants in the Highlands, with no complaints from us.

The wedding reception in the Stables was such fun, and the space looked beautiful. The staff were consistently friendly and glad to help. We stayed at Bendooley for the wedding, in the lovely Homestead and cottages, where every detail seemed carefully considered. The wedding food was delicious, as was breakfast in the Vine room each morning. Highly recommend a visit.

The Stables made a magical setting for our wedding, with a beautiful rustic-luxe feel. Our guests had plenty of compliments for the location and the service, and the day itself was spectacular. The team on the night were professional, attentive and lovely to deal with, keeping things running smoothly so we could enjoy every moment. Planning was also a pleasure. The team were helpful, open and professional from the start, and we felt they had our interests at heart. Kelly guided us through every detail as our coordinator and made the process feel easy and stress-free. Eva made our tasting memorable and special too. We couldn’t recommend Bendooley Estate more highly for a dream wedding. Thank you for making our day everything we imagined and more.

The estate is picturesque, and our guests enjoyed the food on the wedding day. Still, we came away deeply disappointed after two serious problems and the way they were handled. At our pre-wedding tasting in the Vine Room, we found live maggots crawling in the beef dish. Staff insisted they hadn’t come from the kitchen and suggested flies in the dining area had dropped them there. We found that disturbing and stressful, lost trust in the venue, and seriously considered moving our wedding. With only a few months to go and family flights and accommodation already arranged, we decided against such a drastic change. In our view, the response was poor at first, with excuses such as guests possibly leaving doors open. We were also surprised to be charged for the meal. Then the audio system failed during the ceremony. The microphone echoed, delaying things significantly and leaving guests confused. About 5-10 minutes before the start, staff told me the cord for playing music through the PA was faulty and would work only if held in an exact position. My friend tried her best to play the music, but when my wife walked down the aisle there was mostly silence, broken by music that came through for less than a second at a time. It was incredibly distracting during what I think is the most important moment of the day. When I raised these issues, Bendooley's Estate described them as “hiccups,” which felt minimising. They seemed focused on limiting discussion and sent me a Deed of Release with a non-disclosure clause that would have restricted me from sharing the experiences publicly if I signed it.
