The Lodge made a lovely base for our east coast trip, and our host did so much to make the stay feel special. She was incredibly welcoming and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. There were 10 of us, and we had clean, comfortable beds, roomy spotless bathrooms, and plenty of space to gather around the big dining table or bar. We also loved the wood fire, high ceilings, and deck with its ocean view. Beaches and cafes in Bicheno were an easy walk away. We’re very grateful for the experience.

Agather was the highlight of our visit. She was lovely and helpful, took us swimming, and arranged a trip to a local nature park, which made a good stay feel delightful. The place worked really well for a family, with comfortable beds, a full kitchen and laundry, plus TV and wifi. It’s spacious and well equipped, with a nice view from the porch. Shops and things to do in Bicheno are conveniently close.

We had six adults and never felt cramped, with roomy, comfortable accommodation. The bedrooms are on the small side, though two have ensuites. The bathroom for the other room is separate and a bit inconveniently placed. There’s a lovely view from the front door. No dishwasher, but the large stove and microwave were useful. A good stay overall.

We could park our 8-seater right beside the house, which was easy, and Agather was kind and quick to respond. She gave us advice and helped book restaurants. The location was handy too, about a 3-minute drive or 15-minute walk to Bicheno town centre or the Blowhole. We were lucky enough to spot a fairy penguin at the Blowhole entrance at night, under a beautiful starry sky. The ground-floor apartment has three spacious bedrooms and a nice sea view. It was clean, warm, and well equipped, with plenty of beds and three bathrooms, so it suited our group well.

The place was clean and nice, though the decor feels old. If you have unit 2, the Queen twin room, be aware the cooking area is limited to a kettle, microwave, toaster, and sink, so plan meals accordingly. The other rooms have full kitchens. We weren’t given the WiFi password, so ask for it if it isn’t written inside.
