Silo Motor Inn Biloela

The pool was nice and the bed was comfortable. I’m guessing the rooms get used a lot by people on work trips, because there was banging and doors slamming very early, with people seeming not to care. Still, it was okay.

The rooms are dated and well used, but clean. Mine had a small TV, good towels, tea, biscuits, sugar and a pod coffee maker. There was no milk, which was fine by me as I don’t drink it. Water pressure wasn’t great, but the hot water was good enough. It’s at the industrial end of town, with a tavern across the road that serves excellent food at a reasonable price. Getting a key on arrival was a hassle. I was told the other person had checked us in, so I hadn’t been given one. I went to the locked room and couldn’t find that person anywhere, then returned to reception and asked again. I still wasn’t given a key, so I asked to be let in. I’d explained from the start that we were doing our own separate things and asked them to check with the manager about giving me a key. I did get one later.

The room was clean and well appointed, with a fantastic bathroom and a spa big enough for my husband and me to soak in together after a day riding our motorcycles. Breakfast room service was superb, the food was great, and the service was fantastic. I’d have liked breakfast to be available a bit later. The bed was comfortable, and it was great having extra pillows and a blanket without needing to ask. The bed castors could do with replacing, though, as it rolled around 🤣. It was 11C outside when we arrived at 7pm, and I wish the heat had been switched on beforehand. We were frozen, and it took a few hours to warm the room. The TV failed late Sunday night, so we watched things on our phones instead. There’s a great pub within walking distance with amazing meals, and parking right by the room meant our bikes felt safe. Even though it’s on the Dawson Hwy, we heard no traffic. Our only noise complaint was people in the next room being quite loud as they left early. We’ll definitely stay again.

We spent three nights in the luxury suite and really liked the place. There’s a laundry room for guests staying more than one night. The restaurant was closed, but we could still get room service from hotel settlers across the road, and breakfast could be delivered to the room. Thumbs up from us.
