Penneshaw Beach Stay

We stayed one night in September, my mum and I, before catching the morning ferry. It was clean and just as described on the booking website, and did exactly what we needed. A microwave in the room would have been handy for heating food from IGA, though. The price was affordable, and the ocean view was gorgeous. You can see the ferry from the window, and the place is close to the ferry, an IGA, and restaurants. The owners communicated well, and check-in was super easy.

The bay views are gorgeous, and falling asleep to the sound of the ocean was such a treat. From Penneshaw Beach Stay, it was an easy walk to the beach, shops, ferry and pub, which made getting around simple. I was there for work, and my room was spotless, tidy and had everything I needed. Michael and Yiannis were wonderful hosts, always happy to help and full of ideas about where to go. Their renovations look fantastic, and it was lovely meeting hosts who care so much about what they do. A perfect budget stay.

We stayed three nights with three adults and two kids, and the room was neat and comfortable. The place is really handy for the terminal in Penneshaw, KI. One of the owners was on site and was kind, helpful and gave us excellent service. At sunset, he took us to see wild wallabies and kangaroos, then gave us a lovely gift when we checked out. We had a fantastic stay and would recommend it to anyone travelling to Kangaroo Island.

We only had one night here and wished we could have stayed longer. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, with some thoughtful little touches, and Penneshaw’s shops and other essentials are close by. The ferry is just a short walk away, too. We booked at the last minute and were so pleased with how it worked out. Michael was easy to deal with, flexible about our specific requests and went out of his way to help us enjoy our time. We’ll definitely come back.
