Birches Mudgee

I stayed at Birches with my daughter and her bridesmaids before her Mudgee wedding. The house worked perfectly for getting ready and taking photos. Rain kept us out of the gardens, but the lounge was a great spot for the pictures instead. The rooms are large, with ensuites, and the beds have the softest sheets. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the gardens are gorgeous in a very quiet setting. Breakfast was lovely, and Mark and Kim were so friendly and helpful. I’d highly recommend Birches for a bridal party or anyone visiting Mudgee.

We stayed in the spacious Finch Room, with its own ensuite, bath and shower, and private courtyard. The bed was super comfortable and the linen wonderfully soft. Breakfast is self serve and was great, and the lounge made a nice place to relax. Kim and Mark made us feel very welcome. Birches is a lovely country retreat, close to Mudgee Racecourse, wineries, and other facilities. Highly recommend.

The communal lounge has a TV, fireplace, games, and books, and it’s also where breakfast is served. There was fruit, yoghurt, toast and preserves, a good choice of teas, and a Nespresso machine. My room was spacious and tastefully decorated, with a very comfortable bed and lovely Sheridan luxury sheets. The bathroom had a great bath, toiletries, and bathrobes. Local wine was available to buy in the room. A lovely three-room property in a great location. I’d definitely recommend it.

We spent peaceful mornings in the beautiful gardens, enjoying the country air among the willow and birch trees. After visiting Mudgee’s wineries and restaurants, we’d unwind by the fireplace in the guest lounge, with frogs croaking outside. Mark and Kim made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, and their genuine hospitality made the stay special. The room was large, with a full-sized bathroom, and the accommodation was five star. Birches is a wonderful quiet getaway, and we can’t wait to come back.
