The toilets weren’t clean, which added to an already disappointing lunch. The food was pretty average for the price. My husband wasn’t impressed with his fish and chips, and my salmon arrived in a bottled-tasting Asian-style dressing with pickled ginger. I hadn’t seen sauce mentioned on the menu, or I’d have asked for it on the side. There was no radish or lemon, either. The counter and wait staff weren’t especially friendly. Not a great experience.

The service was excellent, and they were happy to bring a side salad with my wings. Those wings were deliciously spicy, and the fish and chips came in a huge, much-appreciated portion. Having Guinness on tap was the icing on the cake. Highly recommend.

The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was good, so I’d only come back for a drink. Dinner was a letdown: our steaks, ordered medium rare with Marron and prawns, came well done and tasted charred, as if cooked on a dirty grill. The Marron was undercooked. We’d also spent $80 on entrees that were tiny, cold, and flavourless. UPDATE: I was called and every point I’d made was denied. They were aggressive, implied I’d lied, and made lots of excuses for a pathetic meal. I’m definitely never going back.

The bar had a good atmosphere, though it was a busy night and they seemed more focused on quantity than quality. We asked to swap the chips and salad that came with the steak for veg and mash, but were told they wouldn’t change any items, even for a basic request. The steak tasted burnt from the grill and wasn’t very nice. For the price, I was disappointed.
