Airway Motel

After checking out, we had hours to wait for our flight, and they let us relax by the pool. Anthony and co. were incredibly accommodating, gave us free bottles of water, and made sure we were comfortable. The room was clean and comfy too, with a top-notch bed and pillows. And the shower! We’ll definitely stay here again.

I was a bit unsure when I saw the outside, but the room looked newly renovated, clean, and tidy. The air-con got icy within minutes. Only issue was that the towels smelled a little, but I was still quite impressed.

I needed somewhere from 10 pm to 5 am between flights, and Airway Motel was the best-value option near the airport. The outside looks old, but the rooms have been renovated and are clean with a fairly modern look. I booked a queen and single bed and got exactly that. There was a small fridge, microwave, mini kettle, toaster, a few plates and bowls, metal cutlery, plus an iron and ironing board. That’s enough to heat pre-packaged meals. The office was shut when I arrived at 10 pm, but they’d sent the room keypad code by email and text earlier. An UberXL with six seats cost $44 from the airport at 9:30 pm Saturday, and $26 for the return at 5 am Sunday.

I stayed six days and there was no housekeeping at all. Towels were changed only when I asked, and once I came back to find the door wide open. The bathroom looked newly renovated, but the shower pressure was very weak and the finish was sloppy. It’s okay for one budget night, but I wouldn’t choose it for a longer stay.
