The location is the strongest part: right under Story Bridge, with lovely river and bridge views. It’s a pleasant spot near the feel of Kangaroo Point, away from the noisy CBD but still convenient for getting around. The rooms are surprisingly spacious, though bare and somewhat primitive, with minimal furnishings and nothing particularly modern or welcoming. The lack of separation between the pub and bar areas and the guest rooms was a real problem. When we came back in the evening, drunk, noisy men were hanging around outside our room. It felt neither safe nor relaxing. We called reception, but communication was difficult because the person who answered didn’t speak English as a first language. We eventually got our point across, but there was no follow-up, and nobody came to check or move the men along. The rest of the service didn’t impress either. I saw employees giggling and messaging on their phones while on duty. When we asked for extra pool towels, none were available, and we were brushed off without urgency or an apology. The front desk and car drop-off area were chaotic, with cars everywhere and nobody there to help with luggage or directions. The location keeps this from being a total miss, but the service, facilities and atmosphere fell short. Average at best. I probably wouldn’t stay again unless the price was rock-bottom.

We loved the bathroom products and the design and style of the bathroom and shower. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, and the pool was beautiful. Bar staff were friendly and helpful. The room itself was tiny, with very dingy lighting, despite being a two-bedroom room with a terrace under the bridge. It was very noisy, right beside the bar and pools. Parking was extortionately priced, and the gym was really disappointing. A mixed bag, and very expensive for what it is. I wouldn’t rush back unless the rates came down.

Being part of a senior citizens’ tour group, we weren’t told that we needed the fob to use the lift. The room decor was depressing: everything was black, and finding the light switches was difficult. My bathroom also wasn’t clean. A sticky substance on the toilet flush panel got onto my fingers every time I flushed. Breakfast was a la carte, and one morning my scrambled eggs and bacon took an hour to arrive. The eggs had no taste and the bacon was tough. There was no option for fruit or croissants, and it was the worst hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. The location under the Bridge is great, but if this is five star, no thank you.

The artwork in the room and corridor was amazing, and the view was exceptional. I brought my wife for an awards ceremony that evening and we were so happy with our room at Crystalbrook Vincent. It had a very modern industrial style, and turned out to be quite romantic. Highly recommend!

We chose the wheelchair accessible family room for our recent visit to do the Story Bridge adventure climb. There was lots of room to move, including space to get around the outside of the bed in my wheelchair. The wide doorways and accessible bathroom with a roll-in shower worked really well. The room was beautiful, clean and comfortable, and adjustable air conditioning helped with my temperature regulation difficulties. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. The location was also ideal, very close to the Bridge climb, lovely restaurants, and great views of the bridge and water. We had an amazing stay. Thank you!
