The location and car parking are still good points, and the apartment was a decent size. It seems this may once have been a good place to stay, but mine was grotty and badly cleaned, with a smell of cheap cleaning products. The furniture was saggy, stained, and worn out, and the bedside lamp didn't work. The kitchen had one wine glass, two coffee cups, and no chopping board. With some care and attention, it could be a reasonable place again.

We were a little concerned after reading the reviews, but for what we paid, we were happy with our three-night stay. Free parking saved us a lot, and Woolies and plenty of food shops are within walking distance. The unit is old but was pretty clean, with a washing machine, dryer, kitchen, bathtub, and nice cold air conditioning. The mattress was firm and we could feel the springs, as others had mentioned, but it was okay for us. The kitchen utensils and curtains could do with replacing. We brought our own utensils, so didn't use theirs much. We'd consider staying again.

The location was very good, within walking distance of central Brisbane and Fortitude Valley. I stayed for just over a month, but the room wasn't clean when I arrived: there was other people's hair behind the toilet, and a hole in the ceiling. The walls were so thin that people walking past sounded like they were inside. The air conditioning made a vibrating noise every minute or so, and some nights I had to sleep elsewhere. I wasn't given a proper duvet, just one thin blanket and a sheet. The oven never got up to temperature and the stove ran too hot. I'm also not sure it counts as a serviced apartment when I never received any service or cleaning.

Rodger, the manager on duty, was easy to talk to and kept me informed about room availability and any issues. I arrived very early after seeing family off at the airport, and he let me leave my bags in the office while the room was being prepared. The hotel is easy to find from either Brisbane Central or Fortitude Valley station, and well placed for shopping and the cultural precinct, about two minutes and fifteen minutes away on foot respectively. I had a great holiday in September and will be back.

The staff are tops, and I was pleasantly surprised to get upgraded to a larger apartment. The kitchens are well stocked for cooking, and the bathroom has excellent hot water. Parking is available. FRISCO is a short walk from the city and the lovely gardens in Spring Hills. I'd happily recommend the apartment complex and will be back this year. Cheers from Auckland.
