Mt Ommaney Hotel Apartments

We checked in around 2 pm, then drove around to the back of the property where our room was. Police and the coroner were removing a body from the room next door. Reception hadn’t told us anything about it. It was confronting even for my 21-year-old daughter, and I’d have been much angrier if I’d had young kids with me. I’ve stayed in plenty of places over the years, but this was next level. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The air conditioning worked, and the carport parking kept our car out of the weather. The rest of the stay was rough. The room smelled unpleasant every time we entered, the bathroom cabinet was falling apart, there were dirty handprints on the walls, and bugs sat in a bathroom ceiling corner. There’s no soundproofing, and our neighbours talked loudly all night, then played music at 4 am and again at 6:30. We saw them later that morning and they seemed very much under the influence. Our parking spot was around the corner from the building, so we had to carry everything through the rain and up the stairs. I stayed here several years ago, not by choice, and it’s even more run down now. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re desperate, and I won’t be back.

The rooms are neat and clean, the beds are comfortable, and the shower gets nice and hot. Staff are really helpful with anything you need.

I started feeling itchy in bed, especially on my foot, and it continued for a week. I suspect the room hadn’t been cleaned properly. In the morning there were lots of tiny flies in the bathroom, and my things were dirty with dead flies. I should’ve taken photos. They also charged me for a large can of Pringles I hadn’t eaten, then emailed me about it. Luckily, the receipt they sent a week later belonged to another customer. I called just in case, but customer service wasn’t friendly and didn’t apologize.
