Quest River Park Central

Right in the heart of Brisbane CBD, this hotel has a great location. The facilities and service were far beyond what I expected, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I'd highly recommend it to family and friends.

The location is central to everything, but our night cost $500 plus $30 for parking and didn't feel worth that price. The online photos made the rooms look fairly modern, while ours was dated, with marks across the walls and hard, uncomfortable beds. The air conditioning stopped about an hour after check-in. A lovely front desk host came up quickly to work on it, with a lot of back and forth and resetting. We were told it would restart in a few minutes, but it took nearly an hour. Then it failed again overnight and the room reached 26 degrees, which was extremely uncomfortable. In the morning I opened the balcony doors and was hit by a cigarette smell, presumably from neighbouring units, since smoking is allowed on balconies. With three kids, that was pretty foul. At checkout I told the front desk lady about the problems. She said, “yeah sorry about that,” but didn't offer a discount or even a parking refund.

The apartment was clean and nice, but the advertised washing machine and dryer weren't there. That's awkward if you're staying for a few days.

We did find the apartment quite comfortable, and the location was central and good. It was spacious, but the amenities fell short. The air conditioning wasn't working, and one tea towel for three people over four days wasn't enough. Supplies like tea, coffee and toilet rolls were very limited, and there wasn't a tissue, serviette or paper towel anywhere. The one plug provided didn't fit either the bath or the sinks, and we couldn't switch either fixture from shower to bath.
