The room was lovely and quiet, and clean too. Really comfy bed and lovely staff. Highly recommend, I'd stay again.

There was plenty to see and do within walking distance of my room, and I enjoyed spending time in the outdoor grounds. After nearly three weeks here, my stay has been pleasant and comfortable. The staff are lovely too. Whether you're passing through or staying a while, I'd recommend the 'Old Willyama' motel.

I spent a week here in mid March 2025 with a group, in a ground-floor room, and came away with mixed feelings. For me, a room upstairs might be a better choice. People above could wake a light sleeper with the sound of using the toilet in the morning and a few other noises. Not sure what could be done about that. There are also thorny bits that cling to shoes, so wipe your feet well. They get into the carpet and can hurt if you step on them. My room was clean, with a firm but comfortable bed. It had a big TV, though reception dropped out occasionally. I don't know if that's common in Broken Hill. They left a couple of Robert Timms coffee sachets each day, a welcome alternative to Nescafe 43. There was a microwave and cutlery for takeaway or simple self-catering, but no kitchenette. The shower got hot, had good pressure and was easy to adjust. The room was cleaned daily except Sundays. It's less than a five-minute walk to the main part of town, and a little further to a decent grocery store. Oxide Street has takeaway places including Bernels and The Kitchen, which could hold their own anywhere. Bernels is comparatively cheap and serves hand-cut potato chips. The motel restaurant does a decent continental breakfast, though I wouldn't recommend its Chinese food. Wi-Fi was unreliable, sometimes unavailable altogether. If you don't have your own Telstra-based Wi-Fi, you may not be happy. Management blamed the poor connection on local services when I raised it, but I don't think that's true. They need to fix it. The Demo and Workies clubs have good free Wi-Fi. The coffee milk is UHT, and for a longer stay you'd think they could provide fresh milk. The bathroom light also turns on the external fan. That's reasonable for keeping the room fresh, but ours was dirty and so loud it rattled your teeth. Management didn't do much when I brought it up. I used the toilet in the dark at midnight so I wouldn't disturb my partner or other guests. The motel displays some Trip Advisor awards, though maybe that says something about the quality of other motels in town. It's a reasonable-quality place, but I'd consider an upstairs room.

Rose was lovely and even drove me to the airport when I couldn't get a taxi. The staff were fantastic, and our rooms were clean and well appointed for our family of five. Old Willyama Motel is well placed for exploring the town and surrounds. We had a great stay and will definitely come back next time we're in town.
