10/10
The room felt cozy and luxurious, with warm lighting, a really comfortable bed, and excellent water pressure in the well-appointed bathroom. We especially liked relaxing on the balcony and taking in the evening views. The building was impeccably kept, and the cafes, restaurants, and bars downstairs added a lot of charm. Helpful staff gave the hotel a high-end feel. A couple of things to know: there are only five parking spots, first come, first served, so sorting that out can feel confusing and stressful. On weekend evenings, music from the lively bars below carries on late. We were in bed at 11pm singing along to Shania Twain, which was funny, though early sleepers should keep the noise in mind. The staff helped us find a spot after we checked in. We had no regrets, and on reflection we’d recommend the Astra to family and friends and would return, so it gets five stars from us. Thanks again to all the lovely staff!

Our family dinner at the Astra was a fantastic experience. The meals were outstanding, and the order came out very quickly. Staff were courteous and friendly, and took our order promptly. I thoroughly recommend it for a family get-together.

My business trip stay at the Astra in Broken Hill was very disappointing. The room cost over $210, and the shower was the one facility I really needed. Its floor was broken and covered by a mat, but nobody warned me. When I turned on the water, a huge amount of dirt came out from under the mat right beneath my feet. I was shocked and scared. There was no staff available at 11pm to report it. This was completely unprofessional and unhygienic. I won’t post the photos here, but I’ll be escalating the matter with the Health Authority.

The platter was delicious, generous, and really filling. We had a lovely one with a bottle of wine and a cocktail that was sooo yummy.

A quick meal here last night was excellent value, and I couldn’t fault the food quality, service, or how friendly the team were. My risotto was cooked to perfection. Thank you, Astra hotel, 10/10 from me!
