The Storekeeper's

Angela made our stay easy at every turn, and her warm welcome meant a lot. We felt at home at The Storekeeper and were glad we had a second night there. The room was comfortable and lovely. This 1840 cottage suits its tiny village setting. The original part blends seamlessly with what seems to be a newer section, and the fire was a treat. It felt cosy and welcoming from the front gate, with everything thoughtfully provided. Breakfast was great, especially the best apple juice I've tasted, crispy bread and eggs.

The kids adored the place, and we had everything we needed. It was peaceful, quiet, clean and comfortable, with comfy beds. The hosts had the fireplaces ready to go, so all we had to do was strike a match. Communication was easy too. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a decent coffee maker and milk frother. Cupboards are stocked with things like pasta, sauces and frozen pizzas that you can buy if you want. There are lovely coffee table books to read by the fire. Breakfast provisions were already in the fridge when we arrived: apple juice, milk, eggs, apples, yoghurts, butter, jams, müsli and honey.

We spent one night here with another couple for an event at the hall across the road. The hosts were top-notch and had the cottage warm with the fire going when we arrived. Breakfast had fresh eggs, bread, yoghurt, juice and more. A fantastic little gem in the heart of Buckland, and a great experience.

A great place to relax and unwind. The cottage feels homely and is well appointed, with two fireplaces and an outdoor fire pit in the courtyard. The kitchen has everything you need and more. The fridge has a selection of wines and beer, and there are homemade meals available in the freezer.
