The service was good, but the food I just had was awful. I ordered the sundowner schnitzel. At an alh pub last week, the schnitzel had real avo, bacon, hollandaise and cheese and was beautiful. Here the avo tasted like mashed packet stuff, the bacon bits were cheap and nasty, and I couldn't taste the hollandaise at all. The chicken was an off-grey colour too. Chips were okay and the salad was only so-so, but $76 for that slop is ridiculous. No wonder there were only three tables occupied on Australia day. I've worked in hospitality my whole life, and I'm glad I don't work for this company anymore. They spent so much renovating their newly brought pubs, then seem to skimp on everything else to save a buck. I won't go to another AVC venue, and I'll tell future customers and my hospitality mates about this horrible experience. What a shame. Do better or close the doors. Also, one of your young male restaurant employees just trashed talked the manager to us. Even your employees hate it here. Yuck.

We took the family to the sundowner hotel for dinner and drinks, then planned to finish with karaoke on Wednesday. The air conditioning wasn't working, and staff told us it had been broken for a while and they weren't planning to fix it. We were all sweating and uncomfortable. The karaoke screen was out too, and we were told it had been that way for some time with no plan to repair it. It spoiled the atmosphere. We were very disappointed and won't be back anytime soon. PICK UP YPUR GAME SUNDOWNER. IT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!

My husband's steak and my vegetables were beautiful, and the service was amazing, but the pork belly was terrible. We came in after travelling back from Fraser Island to Melbourne. The skin was soft and soggy, and the meat was tough. The waiter was lovely, but said it was meant to have soft skin, which I'd never heard of. I'd always thought pork belly was supposed to be crispy and crunchy on top. I couldn't eat it, and they didn't offer another piece or an alternative, just said that's how it is. Great place, but order something else.

We had a lovely visit to the Sundowner on Saturday. The room was spotless and comfortable, and the whole stay felt relaxing. Lunch was delicious, fresh and full of flavour, and the staff were friendly, attentive and made us feel welcome. Highly recommend!

We dropped in for an unexpected meal and had such a great time that we've come back again. The food was fresh, delicious and beautiful, and they were incredibly accommodating with every request. Best service I've had in a hotel in a long time. The hospitality crew were sharp, communicated brilliantly with each other and were quick between team members. Just brilliant 🙌🙏💯
