Freedom Cairns

I’m from Japan, and I wish this hostel would open one in my hometown. My first time staying in a hostel was here, and I’m so glad it was. I’d been nervous at first, but the front desk staff were kind and handled any problems really well. The facilities were kept very clean, and the daily events were fun and interesting. I’d love to stay longer if I get the chance.

The common spaces were good for relaxing and meeting people, and the location was really convenient. I had a very good stay. It was clean and well organized, with a nice atmosphere, and the staff were friendly, helpful and around whenever I needed something. I’d stay here again.

The eight-bed dorm was quiet, and everyone was respectful. It’s a newly renovated hostel, so everything feels new and well cared for, with a cozy, relaxed atmosphere. There are activities every day, and the location is great, with everything within walking distance. The key app made it easy to ask staff questions, and they always replied quickly and helpfully. Mathilde was especially patient when she helped me print my CVs, and gave me useful advice about looking for work in Cairns. She made those first few days feel a lot less lonely.

The kitchen was clean, and the pots and pans were in good condition. The bathrooms were modern, nice and clean too. I’d recommend the hostel to anyone looking for somewhere to stay. My only gripe was the six-bed room: it was very small, and I kept hitting my head on the upper bunk when I was on the bottom one.
