Our favourite part was the spacious balcony overlooking the beach. The location was perfect, right across from the water, and we stayed four nights as a family. We’d consider coming back, but our expectations were higher because it’s meant to be a five-star hotel. The apartments’ interiors are overdue for a revamp, and it felt more like a 3.5-star place. The toiletries were tiny and impractical, so we had to buy soap, shampoo and conditioner elsewhere. Water escaped the shower glass and flooded the shower room each time. I asked a maid for an extra bath mat on day two. We weren’t given any fresh towels or toilet paper during the stay. The AC settings in both bedrooms and the living room were locked. For the first 24 hours, only the bedrooms cooled, while the living area sat at 30 degrees and the four of us struggled to use it. Reception sent a technician after we raised it. He reset the main living room controller to cooling, but then the living room was cool and the bedrooms became uncomfortably hot for the next two nights, making it hard to sleep. We had trips booked on two full days in a row and couldn’t discuss it with reception, which was closed when we left in the morning and got back at night. I’m mentioning this so people booking know what to expect.

We had a great stay and would come again. It was easy to walk to nice restaurants and a convenience store, and our deal even included car hire. The large two-bedroom apartment was clean and spacious, with a separate bathroom and ensuite, a good-sized kitchen, and plenty of amenities. There was a massive shaded outdoor deck with BBQ facilities, plus lots of ceiling fans and a/c. The sunken lounge area was a nice touch, and the concierge was friendly.

The staff were friendly and helpful, but the stay was a real disappointment and nothing like what I expected from somewhere listed as a five-star resort. The pool towels cost us $15. In the common areas, large dead bugs and leaves littered the halls and pool. I understand it’s set in nature, but nobody came to clean it during our three-day stay. The apartment needed a thorough clean, and much of the decor needed replacing. The carpet was stained and lifting in places; the curtains were stained and torn; and there was dirt and dust in the corners and on the closet shelves. One blanket had a stain I can only hope was lotion. The shower head was so mouldy that I used the other bathroom. I first noticed tiny dead flies on my bed and thought perhaps a door had been left open while cleaning, but the rest of the place was in poor shape too. If it had been listed as a self-catered apartment that needed upkeep, I wouldn’t leave a negative review. Calling it a five-star resort suggests a Four Seasons style stay, which was far from what we got. I took photos to support this review, though I’m not posting them right now.

We had a perfect stay in a beautiful two-bedroom apartment. The location was great, and there was covered parking. Each bedroom had its own air conditioner, which was a big plus. The woman at reception was very nice. I’d highly recommend it!

Trinity Beach is a beautiful spot, and the property is right on the beachfront. Cairns city is far away, but it’s easy to get an Uber at any time. The kitchen has everything you need, with some good places to eat and a little grocery store around the corner.
