There’s lots of parking, though it can fill up at peak times. If you’re bringing more than four people, booking ahead is a good idea. It’s a huge, busy pub serving the usual burgers, pizzas, pies and chicken, with all the basics done well. The portions are on the large side, and the food came out hot. Tasty enough, though nothing amazing. You come here to catch up with mates, not for fine dining. The staff were friendly despite being rushed. Food took a while and didn’t all arrive together. Pizzas came faster than the salads and chicken, and dessert timing seemed to depend on how busy the restaurant was.

I have a sentimental connection to this place. I booked a room here at the end of February, and the reception staff were lovely and welcoming. I had a wonderful stay on the Motel side and would highly recommend it for a romantic getaway. The Pub side can get crowded, which shows how popular it is. It’s a lovely setting, with a great backdrop to get lost in. The food is a little overpriced, but if you don’t mind waiting, it’s worth it for the taste.

The welcome at the entrance was warm, and I loved the Christmas decorations, the views and the overall vibe. The rest areas were comfortable and well set up. The food was tasty and nicely presented too. But after walking around, we sat at a quiet table in the restaurant area that had no reservation name on it and ordered food and drinks. We’d driven 2.5 hours each way to visit with my family, and after more than 30 minutes a staff member asked us to leave because the table was reserved for someone else. We moved without complaining, though we were disappointed. We were sent to outdoor seating in direct sunlight, even though we had a newborn with us. Ten minutes later, the same staff member brought our coffee, spilling nearly half my latte. We saw it happen. They gave a quick apology but didn’t offer to replace it. With the long wait, the way our table was handled and no real effort to fix the spilled drink, the visit was genuinely disappointing. It was a bit pricey as well. I’d discovered this place a long time ago, but sadly we won’t be coming back for food.

The atmosphere, drinks and food are all great, and the pub food has been 10/10 every time. We’ve stayed here a few times while travelling between Melbourne and Sydney, and the rooms have always been great too. The menu lists gluten-free options, including a gluten-free burger with garlic potato bites instead of chips.

A great place to spend time with mates. I’ve been a few times, and it’s kid friendly, with good live music, a great bar and a good range of beers on tap. The one downside is the limited vegetarian choice. A few more options would be great.
