Raffertys Resort

We were told on the phone that we could check in at 11am and would have an allocated space and garage parking. At reception, one person said we had a garage and a spot, but then the property manager stepped in and said there was no garage. We were later told there were two allocated spaces, and that the earliest check-in was 1pm. The manager said we'd made up the phone conversation, which left us feeling accused of making it up. When we reached the cottage, there were no designated spaces after all, and both visitor spots were taken. We parked on the grass and a neighbour told us it was “her spot”. The resort complaints line also said there was no spot. The cottage was filthy, with dead bugs on the floor, stains on the carpet and linen, and a mouldy smell from the cupboards. The pools were disgusting too, and the whole place felt outdated and in need of serious work. Four stars? What a joke. Save yourself $400+ a night and stay at a proper resort or hotel. Never again.

The pools were lovely and kept in good condition, and we enjoyed the tennis facilities and clean BBQ areas. The water sports looked fun too. But the pools only open at 9am, which wasn't great for early risers, and there's nowhere onsite to get a morning coffee. Our cottage was very old, with a strong closed-up, mouldy smell that made staying there uncomfortable. The garage was locked, so we had no car space, and finding parking around the resort was difficult. Communication was awful as well. I sent several emails before the stay and got no reply, which was frustrating. The resort has potential, but the accommodation, communication, and some important amenities need work.

No coffee onsite, which I was actually glad about, because otherwise I might never have found the little gem Nords Wharf Trading Post cafe, just a few minutes' drive away. Go there for breakfast, you won't regret it. Yum. We got married here 4yrs ago and came back for an anniversary weekend. Still a 10/10 and the location is perfect. The Tavern is a nice addition, though it's a shame the cafe & restaurant by the pool is permanently closed.

Villa 62 didn't feel up to 4-star standard to us, more like 2-3 stars. Still, we had a lovely weekend, and the pools were excellent. The resort was very clean overall.
