Accommodate Canberra - The Avenue

Dinner at Marble and Grain was superb. The servings are big, so leave room for dessert, and book ahead because it can get busy. We had a fantastic Sunday Spa special at the Avenue Hotel. Our lovely suite had a balcony facing Northbourne Ave, with a view out to Black Mountain, a well-equipped kitchenette and a huge spa bath. The deal included parking, breakfast and a voucher for the in-house restaurant, which made it excellent value. Would definitely recommend.

The spa suite was fantastic, more like a fully self-contained apartment than just a suite. I chose The Avenue Hotel for a 3-night Canberra trip because I wanted somewhere modern and fairly central, with a bathtub to relax in after long sightseeing days. The spa bath was magical, but when I filled it and switched it on, lots of black gunk came out of the jets. I reported it the next morning before heading out and was assured it would be sorted. When I asked that evening, I was told maintenance had checked it and housekeeping had cleaned it. I was surprised to get back to my room and find it was still dirty. Reception were very apologetic and moved me to an identical room, plus gave me a $20 restaurant voucher. It was still a bit of a pain having to pack up and move.

We had a wonderful stay for our wedding anniversary. The room was spotless, very spacious, and had a super-comfy bed, a gorgeous roomy spa bath in spa suite room 801, and a beautiful view of the mountain and telstra tower. It's conveniently located, just a short walk to the “city walk”. We didn't try the restaurant because we went out, though I can imagine it being as good as the room. The underground parking was convenient, with plenty of spaces. The anniversary card left in our room was a really special touch. Honestly, I can't think of anything negative to say. Thank you, we'll definitely be back!
