Cessnock Motel

The location was great, but room 14 was tiny and looked nothing like the photos. The door was stiff and seemed nearly broken. The air conditioning barely worked, and both it and the bathroom exhaust fan need cleaning.

I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. The room was in unacceptable shape and nothing like the booking photos, with dirty surfaces, stained bedding and a strong smell. Even reception looked unclean and poorly kept when we arrived. I contacted the motel to try to sort things out and got no reply. That felt completely unprofessional. The attached photos speak for themselves, and health inspectors should take a serious look at the property.

The pool was nice and clean, and there was plenty of parking. My room was clean too, and the staff were friendly. Highly recommended.

The room was clean, but I personally wouldn’t recommend staying here. It looked quite different from the pictures, the beds were uncomfortable, the shower pressure was weak, and the water turned cold quickly. Sleep was hard to come by. The toilet kept making a dripping sound all night, along with another humming noise, and I could hear the neighbours talking. Part of the air conditioner was hanging down, and the socket behind the bed was caved in. I spent most of the night awake, so bring good earplugs or stay somewhere else if you want a proper sleep. It was raining heavily and already late, so we didn’t raise the problems or try to change rooms in the middle of the night. Check-in and checkout also felt unprofessional. On arrival, the cleaner said the receptionist was in the shower and tried to find someone else to check us in. At 10am checkout, I waited for the receptionist, who eventually appeared in pyjamas. I found that strange.
