The location worked well for me, close to the Great Western Pub and the IGA. I regularly travel between the coast and Broken Hill, and I’ll definitely use Copper City Motel again. It was $50 cheaper than any other option in Cobar, which made it great value. The room was basic but clean, and after a hot day riding, that fire-hydrant-level shower pressure felt awesome. I appreciated the two bottles of cold water too. The clean pool looked inviting, but the comfortable bed and a/c won out.

We paid $150 for the night and another $100 at the restaurant, and this was the worst stay of our four-month trip around Australia. The room light and TV didn’t work, and the blinds left part of the window uncovered. Outside, workers were drinking, yelling, singing and blasting music right by the rooms, while management did nothing. Dinner was a mess too. We waited an hour and a half for a pizza while other tables got served. After telling us it was coming, they said the oven had broken halfway through and tried to make it another way. What they brought out was an undercooked frozen pizza, which we refused. We chose the Butter Chicken from the specials menu instead, but that took another half hour. By then it was nearly 9pm, so they gave it to us to take away and said there was no rice, even though we’d just seen them serve about 20 curries with rice. The butter chicken tasted awful, the worst we’ve ever had. AVOID THIS PLACE!

The rooms are good, and there’s a decent pub next door with good food. Just be aware that the roller curtains don’t cover the full window, so I didn’t feel completely private in the room. I also wish the beds were firmer and the window covering better. If you’ll arrive late, let the staff know so they can leave a key in the lock box and text you the code.

The pub had delicious pizza, so we didn’t need to look elsewhere for a meal. There were plenty of tradies staying at the motel and a few different characters to listen to, though it all quieted down after 9pm. I was running late on our overnight stop further west, so I phoned ahead and paid for the room over the phone since the office would be closed when we arrived. The room was clean and nice, with a comfortable, cozy bed. In the morning I left the key with one of the cleaners, and everyone working there seemed very helpful. Thanks for the stay.

I hope nobody else has to deal with the same problems. There were bugs in the room when we first moved in, which we managed to remove, and it didn’t smell very pleasant. Overnight, the bathroom filled with bugs and insects, so it was unusable in the morning. Several powerpoints didn’t work, and some were cracked and unsafe to use. The bathroom towel rack was coming out of the wall and couldn’t be used. We were really disappointed with the room.
