Ocean Paradise Holiday Units

The walls seemed really thin. We could hear the people next door showering, and there was a lot of heavy stomping from the rooms above. That wasn’t great while travelling with an infant, and it felt pretty pricey for what we had to put up with. The staff were friendly and the place was very clean.

We spent the whole week feeling comfortable and relaxed, and were pleasantly surprised by the stay. The owners were a lovely couple, always willing to help. It’s a small hotel of about 16 rooms, so having the pool and BBQ area right outside our door was great. The beach is across the road, and the Hoey Moey pub, about 200 metres away, had good family meals for $7.50 each night. Our room had no dust, including on the linen, which is something we struggle with at some places. It was extremely comfortable for a 3 star place. Even in the hot summer weather, the ceiling fans were enough and we didn’t need the air con. The kitchen was fully self contained, with a plugin 2 burner stove, and the free Wi-Fi was great compared to other hotels.

The pool area was neat, tidy and well kept, and parking was easy, right outside the door. My room was large, clean and well prepared. It had everything in it, though the alarm clock was probably past its use-by date. Still, who uses those anymore? The owners are Argentinians and really lovely, helpful people. Nothing was too much trouble. The location is excellent. The beach is literally 50 meters away, the family hotel Hoey Moey is right across the road for meals, and Woolworths, Aldi, Maccas and KFC are all less than 1km away at the other end of the street. Hoey Moey had $12 schnitty night last night and 2 for one cocktails the night before. I paid $140, which was acceptable. Based on other places I’ve stayed here, the room was probably more in the $120 range, but I’m happy to pay extra for the care and effort they put in. It’s an older property, but still presents really well. A good family holiday spot with everything needed for a great time away, and it won’t break the bank.

We stayed on Christmas Eve while passing through. The staff were very pleasant, and both of the rooms we booked were clean and comfortable. Parking was easy, and the pool was very inviting. The beach is across the road, and The Hoey Moey bistro is opposite for a very good meal.
