The Underground Motel

Staying underground in cooby pedy was such a cool experience. The room is pleasant, and staff were amazing. There's a communal kitchen if you'd like to cook, plus free coffee. If you visit Coober Pedy, I'd highly recommend staying here.

We were really happy with our 2 night stay with our child. It was our first dug out experience, and a great escape from summer temperatures of 40-50 degrees. Our child loved the cubby house outside. We watched the sun set in the garden and saw the stars at night. The lovely shared space in the middle included a kitchen and fridge, so we could make a meal whenever it suited us. The friendly owners and homey feel made it more like a bnb than a hotel room, a good in between. Thanks for a lovely stay and great memories of CP.

We stayed for 4 nights, and the room was extremely comfortable with great kitchen facilities. The owners/managers were wonderful and helpful. Can only highly recommend.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the blue lights outside the room looked stunning. We also caught an amazing sunset. It was well worth the value, and I'd absolutely come back. The room was spotless on arrival, not a speck of dirt anywhere. It's super spacious, with two bunk beds, a master bedroom and two sofas, enough to comfortably fit like 8 people. Two families can fit in this single room. There's a nice dining area and a side room with fridge and microwave. The walls are super insulated and sound proof. If you're concerned about heat, you really shouldn't be, the room was about 8 degrees cooler upon entry. Absolutely splendid experience.
