Mount Lofty House & Estate Adelaide Hills - Adults Retreat

We’re already looking forward to returning. This was our second visit, and we came back with friends to celebrate their birthdays. Christopher and the team welcomed us warmly as soon as we arrived. The three nights of à la carte dinners and breakfasts at Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant were lovely, and the meal in the dome was #sospecial. We were also the first guests in the newly renovated Mount Lofty Cottages. There were five of us in a place that comfortably sleeps eight, which seems ideal for the night before or after a bigger wedding. We can’t wait to come back. The attached photos show how stunning Mount Lofty is. This whole occasion was a surprise for my wife, Emma, and I only told her three weeks before, while we were travelling with our family along Australia’s east coast. I’d started planning six months earlier for a huge milestone for us as a couple and family, first reaching out in April 2025. Even planning from halfway across the world, Rosie made the booking, communication and package options straightforward. The venue’s setting and status also gave me confidence we’d be in safe hands, and the experience really delivered. Rosie connected me with Amy, our celebrant for the day, and Emmy at Dream Blooms. They’re both amazing, and I’ve reviewed them individually. Crystal handled our advance calls and, at shorter notice, suggested Amber Stephens Hair Artistry and Holly Bray at Forever After Socials. They all helped make our small, intimate family occasion a wonderful part of the trip. Crystal also took care of everything we needed on the day.

The 4:30 tour is a must, we learned so much about the property. Mount Lofty House is a peaceful, beautiful retreat in the Adelaide Hills, with stunning views. The historic building is elegant and well maintained, and our room was comfortable. Staff were friendly and attentive, and the dining made a real feature of local produce. A lovely choice for a romantic getaway or a special occasion.

Christopher was the reason our anniversary felt so special. He was genuinely kind, showed us around the history of the house, and sorted out a miscommunication or booking error that had left us really upset. My husband and I stayed for our first wedding anniversary and had a lovely time. Thank you so much, Christopher. Five stars for you, and we wish you all the best.
