The Sebel Creswick Forest Resort

The location was good, with a nice restaurant nearby. The villa itself was beautiful, and the neighbours were lovely and quiet.

The rooms were lovely and came with useful extras like a wireless charger and Foxtel. The location was decent, too. But the TVs were locked to HDMI 1 for Foxtel, and using your own devices was "banned." Management accused me of losing a key, even though it was right where we’d found it. The rooms also weren’t cleaned or maintained well, with too little soap and hair on the wall and floor.

We only stayed two nights, which wasn’t nearly long enough. It was a comfy winter break from Melbourne, and the place had everything we needed. Each of us had a bedroom with its own ensuite, reverse-cycle aircon and TV, plus there was undercover parking. There are nice walks around, but you’ll need a car to explore Creswick town, with its two great bakeries, and the many attractions nearby. The Visitor Centre in town has heaps of information.

The spacious villas felt clean and brand new, and I was impressed. Every room has its own bathroom with a shower and spa-style bath. From the terrace or balcony, keep an eye on the golf course. A mob of kangaroos hops across there, and they’re fun to watch.
