Oceanside Village

Great location, but we wouldn't stay again. The rooms are dated, the old bunk beds squeaked so much we were afraid they'd collapse with our children on the lower bunks, and the aircon is only in the lounge, leaving the bedrooms hot. The kids were told off for splashing and jumping in the pool, which felt a bit weird. The lady in management was lovely and accommodating. Her male counterpart could use some customer service training. We felt like we were putting him out, and he didn't have the welcoming manner his partner did.

The owners were lovely, and everything was perfect for what we needed. The place is close to the beach and town center, with fully equipped kitchens, laundry facilities and a pool. Rum the doggie is very cute too. Just one small fault, a bulb in one bedroom needs replacing, and another light blew on the first night. I'll definitely come back. Thank you!

The best part of this property was its seafront location, and we liked being close to everything. We upgraded to a beachfront unit for an extra $33 per night, which was worth it because otherwise we would have been towards the back. The office lady was pleasant and helpful during our two-night stay a couple of weeks ago. The little pool was a treat in the heat, and we enjoyed eating at The Old Pearler. Our unit was clean and the kitchen had what we needed, though the toilet bowl had awful dark marks that needed a heavy-duty clean. The bulky lounge chairs took up too much room, so the table was pushed into a corner, but we pulled it out. We were in unit 3.

Denham is a great base for fishing and seeing the local flora and fauna. We took the 4WD Shark Bay Eco Tours and it was the best tour ever. The location was spectacular, but the room was just okay. The toilet and shower made pipeline noises, and the toilet towel rail was broken. We came in summer, and with aircon only in the living room, the bedroom was really hot. The service wasn't good. The owners gave us no recommendations and sent us to the Denham information center to ask about and book a tour, even though it is never open over the holidays (31Dec-2Jan). They seemed a little grumpy and unwelcoming, though their dog was super friendly. We asked about a New Year's Eve celebration in town, thinking of an event at a restaurant. I never asked about fireworks, but the owners told us to forget about it, said there was nothing to do except go to the Pub, and that there would be no fireworks.
