Deniliquin Motel

I slept really well on the firmer bed, which suits me. The room was cleaner and better than I expected, with handy things like a toaster, microwave, fridge, tea towel, cutlery and hair dryer. The TV was big, and the chairs looked and felt new and clean. I’d come back and recommend it.

We got into town late, but the lovely woman at the counter checked us in after hours. The room was modern, clean and roomy enough for our family of four.

Deniliquin is a lovely town, and the motel was very reasonably priced. It’s set back from the main road, so there was no traffic noise. The rooms were immaculate and a step above the usual motel, with nice furniture and a proper two-door fridge, microwave and dishware. We stayed one night while travelling from Adelaide to Sydney, and I’d recommend this route from Adelaide. The Hay-Balranald way isn’t pretty, and this route means you don’t cross the Murray a second time at Swan Hill, as well as the Murrumbidgee. There are great little stops about every 10 minutes. Try flake at the fish and chip shop. Victorians eat shark, but we don’t in NSW, and we need to kill more sharks. Also visit the Charlie Carp factory at 269A Racecourse Rd Deniliquin. Their garden fertiliser helps save our rivers from that ugly, smelly, oily invasive fish.

The bed was super comfortable, and the air con was amazing on those hot nights. Check-in was friendly, and the rooms were clean and spacious. Having a mini fridge and microwave in the room was great too.
