There’s a big paddock beside the river, with a fully fenced space for dogs to run around. The hosts were really great, and the cabin and cottage are only a few minutes from town.

That little swimming hole at sunset was a lovely part of each day. We also took our boat out after launching from the private ramp. Riverbend lodge gave us plenty of room to relax, while the kids and our two fur-kids could run around the spacious, beautifully maintained acreage. David and Debra were welcoming and accommodating throughout. It was a peaceful break with our three kids, and we’re planning to return with extended family. Thanks, David and Debra, for sharing your “Little Heaven” with us.
We had such a good time here, and it’s truly dog friendly. The setting was beautiful, and sitting by the fire pit with the complimentary wine was lovely. Thanks for the warm hospitality, especially with our two bigger dogs. They had a blast and were completely worn out haha.
Our Kelpie was entertained all weekend by the lovely little river and all the open space. We stayed in a cosy, warm cabin with everything we needed. We kayaked, made fires, met horses and other dogs, then enjoyed the complimentary wine in the gazebo under the stars. We’re already looking forward to coming back to Riverbend.
David and Debra were great hosts and went above and beyond. It’s country living at its best, with a comfortable stay for people and furry friends. It’s not a five-star hotel, but a fantastic retreat in a peaceful rural setting.
