I used to stay here regularly when travelling. The motel was pet friendly, and its family rooms suited me perfectly. This trip was a huge disappointment. When I arrived, I was told the only pet-friendly family room available was upstairs. I have one leg, so stairs are a serious access problem for me, not just an inconvenience. It then became clear that the downstairs pet family room hadn't been made up. That's poor preparation, not a lack of availability. Even before checking in, the place looked neglected: the bins were overflowing, and the car park and entrance were untidy. Recent reviews mention similar problems with cleanliness and organisation. I also saw a sudden batch of very polished five-star reviews that seemed quite different from the detailed critical reviews. They don't inspire confidence. Clearly paid reviews. This used to be a great motel, but it's gone downhill with foreign ownership. I won't return.

The staff were friendly and obliging, and the room was clean and spacious. The kitchen was nicely appointed and had a great big fridge. All for a very reasonable price. I'd recommend it if you're passing through or staying for a few days.

Our room was spacious and had a nice full-size fridge, but we booked a two-bedroom room for five guests and found just two forks and two spoons after coming back with dinner. No one was at reception when I went down to ask for more. The next day we went to the zoo, leaving a note requesting extra cutlery and asking for the room to be cleaned. Neither was done. The kids had used the towels for the pool, so we were short on those too. Reception was empty again mid-afternoon. After many calls, we finally got extra towels and cutlery at about 7pm on our second night.

My room was cancelled at very short notice, which caused a lot of inconvenience. I understand things happen, but what followed made it feel like I was being scammed for not cancelling through the original channel. They asked for my bank details to make a deposit, then I had to chase them for days. Awful service and communication.

We stayed in the pet room and it was very clean. The staff were lovely too. It's the nicest pet room we've stayed in while travelling, and I'd definitely recommend it for anyone with pets. We'll be back.
