The crew helped us through a stressful problem when our fuel tank started leaking after the previous stop. We were booked for two nights at the riverside camp in early July, but after I explained what had happened at reception, staff moved us to a spot out front and quickly connected me with the maintenance team. They came up with a way to contain the leak and limit soil contamination until I could arrange a repair. The tank was fixed and we finished the rest of the trip without problems. Facilities were in good nick, the food was well priced with huge portions, and the pool was perfect during the day. Thanks to everyone for making it easier to deal with. I couldn’t thank the maintenance staff in person because they were out and about.
The pork ribs and pork belly were incredible, and the chef’s homemade BBQ sauce went perfectly with the meal. Best pork ribs on the Gibb! The restaurant and bar are top notch, and the staff gave us great service from the moment we arrived. Facilities were spotless, especially the clean, well kept showers. Whether you’re stopping for food or staying overnight, it’s a must visit. Highly recommend.
The showers were barely warm, and the park itself looked run down and in need of a lot of maintenance. At this remote location, we expected some standout feature or better service to make the trip worthwhile, but there wasn’t anything that drew us in. Even on arrival, reception felt lukewarm, like our presence didn’t matter. Nobody told us about the facilities or activities, including that the restaurant was closed because of staff issues. Disappointing from the start.
The restaurant food was good and well priced. We bought a day visitor pass for $10 per person and got to enjoy the pool, drinking water and amenities, along with about six walks with our dogs. Start early to beat the heat, especially with dogs. It was so nice to be welcomed openly, unlike our experience at the other stops on the Gibb. A great alternative to El Questro. Definitely worth staying or at least visiting to get away from the overpriced, crowded stops.
I’m really sad to give this camp one star. Our car broke down, and they wouldn’t refund the substantial amount we’d paid. We called three other stations and they were all happy to refund us without any questions. I want others to know the policy says refunds are available within 14 days. One woman told us yesterday afternoon that she’d refund us, but when we called again today, we were told they don’t do that. Very disappointed. I won’t book with them again or recommend them.
