The Inn is a handy affordable option in the city, especially if you're there for AO tennis or another sporting event. It's about a 20 minute walk to the city, which suited us. Breakfast was basic but decent for the price, and the bed was comfortable. We slept well despite hearing the trains. The building is a little outdated and could use some care and updating, but with a bit more attention it could be great.

The room was tiny, with no desk and a little square fridge that barely got cold. The air con sort of worked, but was very weak, even set to -16. Beds were OK, though the shower grout was blackened in places. There are no elevators, so be ready to carry your luggage up the stairs. The hallways were grimy and the carpets dirty on the way to our second floor room. Trains nearby run all day and night, so expect the noise. The location worked for where we needed to go, but the rest was pretty awful. We won't stay again. The place is old, run down, and not very clean, with too few parking spots for the number of rooms. Parking out back was OK once we got in. Check-in was awful: the room was advertised at $129 but cost $141.50 after extra charges. Then they demanded a separate $50 deposit by credit card for the key, to be returned in one to two weeks. The 'key' was just a small plastic disc. We refused to pay the deposit and, after discussing it, were still able to stay. It feels like they collect an extra $50 from each guest and hold it for weeks. I wonder if they're after the interest.

We moved hotels on Christmas Eve after finding a dirty room with broken items and a mattress whose springs poked through. The desk was broken, and a cupboard shelf fell as soon as I touched it. The curtains were frayed and partly torn, and the shower curtains were moldy. The stair carpets and sides were dusty and covered in debris, and it was clear the place hadn't been properly cleaned for a while. Even the front 'garden' was all overgrown weeds, apparently unattended for months. This was meant to be a special part of our holiday, a bucket list visit to the MCG to watch the cricket on Boxing Day. Luckily, we found a Holiday Inn downtown at that late hour. We asked for a refund and got nothing from the hotel. Booking.com showed little interest and eventually gave us just over 100 AUD in credit to spend with them, less than a sixth of what we'd paid. Don't consider staying at this dreadful place.

I was really stressed to have no accommodation just days before my Melbourne trip for a major sporting event. I'd booked this place through hotels.com three to four months ahead, having stayed there before. I chose to have my card charged a few weeks before the stay, though Hotels.com sometimes offered payment at hotel check-in. Two days before travelling, I called to say I'd arrive a bit late and to confirm the booking. The man was rude. He said it had been cancelled because they couldn't charge my card, likely due to its security settings. I hadn't received any notification. He said they couldn't notify me in any way. Hotels.com support confirmed the hotel hadn't told them either. The staff could have contacted me through Hotels.com, and I'd have called right away to sort it out. Georgian Court turned out to be a lemon and a liar, which really suits the rude staff member's name.

The staff were lovely and breakfast was great, but we paid way too much for what we got. Our room was dusty and grimy, the bathroom had mould, and the bathroom light was putrid. Finding a bait box in the corner wasn't welcoming either. The rooms have a lot to offer, but they need to be looked after better. Please invest in decent cleaning staff.
