Alpine View Apartments

The location was great, and the apartment was comfortable, clean, and warm. But there are six flights of stairs, and the check-in time of 4pm felt late. Storage arrangements for arriving and leaving weren't great either. For what we paid each night, I expected enough toilet paper. There were only two rolls for 12 people over seven nights. Those small things make a difference.

We had a good time at Alpine view apartments after just managing to get away from lockdown. The four-bedroom top-floor apartment was spacious, clean, and had a lovely valley view, with a couple of bathrooms too. Just be aware that it's up several flights of stairs, so it may not suit anyone who struggles with walking or has leg problems. Heating was patchy and only apparently switched on once a day, so it took a while to warm up. Reception did give us extra heaters for the bedrooms. There were no basics like oil, salt, pepper, or sugar, so bring everything you need. This isn't a hotel room. The hardest part was arriving and leaving. We moved our booking forward by one night because of covid, and the managers were helpful about that. We arrived earlier than expected and hoped to check in early, since the apartment hadn't been booked the night before. My wife was pregnant and we had a toddler with us, so we needed somewhere warm. I messaged the manager and got no reply, then called on arrival and got no answer. My wife finally reached reception from another phone. I understand there are check-in rules, but we were the only guests in the complex and still couldn't get in early. That was very disappointing. Luckily, the people at falls creek hotel let us sit in their lounge for a few hours. There was nobody around, and the service wasn't great.

Karen is amazing to work with, and we've never been let down by the apartments. I book here every year for the work crew. The beds are comfy, and it's always nice having balconies. Love this place.

There was plenty of storage in both the bedrooms and living area, and the balcony had a BBQ and a good view. Two bedrooms looked out over the snow, while the third had a small window but still a nice view. The apartment was warm, and its bathroom had a spa bath with a separate toilet, which worked well for multiple families. It had two queen beds and a room with two single beds. We stayed Friday and Saturday, and the location was handy, right by the hire shop and lift, with a few coffee shops and places for easy meals just a short walk away.
