The quiet here was something else, just birds, raindrops, and the odd distant cow from all around the forest. It felt like stepping out of time. Everything was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully presented. Easily my favourite place to stay in Augusta. Thanks, Barbara 💛

We only had two nights at Augusta Sheoak Chalets, and wished we’d booked more. The chalet was clean and fairly priced, in a lovely quiet spot that’s still close to everything. I’d definitely recommend it.

The best part for me was the setting: peaceful, lovely to look at, and handy for exploring the area. I’d stay again for that, but would bring a few comforts from home. The chalet feels old and dated in places. The fridge door wouldn’t shut properly, and there wasn’t hand soap in either the bathroom or kitchen. The beds could be more comfortable too. Heating and cooling are limited to fans and a wood fire, so bring warm clothes and extra blankets in the cooler months. We also had no WiFi during our stay, which made it hard to look up places to visit or eat. The owners said restarting it meant turning off power to all five villas, so we went without. The upstairs loft didn’t work well for us either: it’s reached by a steep ladder that isn’t safe for children, and has two thin single mattresses that don’t really suit adults unless put together. If you have a larger vehicle like a 4wd, the carport is a tight fit. Parking beside the chalet gives easier access.

We’ve come back several times because we love the area and these chalets. They’re relaxing, comfortable for two, and well equipped. There’s a new owner now, too.

A great spot if you need to switch off for a while. Our chalet was quiet, tidy, very clean, and had all the equipment we needed. The beds were comfortable, and we had a lovely outlook over green paddocks and the Blackwood River. Augusta is only a short drive away, with plenty to see and do.
