Golden Sands Motor Inn Forster

The rooms are basic but clean and tidy, with air conditioning and a fridge. The shower was good and the bed comfortable, and there's a pool too. There's plenty of off-street parking. From the back entrance it's a one-minute walk to the shopping centre and the best seafood place, while the main beach is three minutes away. The river and LAKES AND OCEAN HOTEL are a five-minute walk. The sign out front mentions a restaurant, but it has closed. There are plenty nearby, including Dorsel restaurant on the main beach, which is good value and also an easy place to stop for a drink.

Dean and Shannon gave us fantastic customer service, and we were so impressed with how they treated us. We really loved staying here. Thanks for making our time in Forster so special.

For a one-night stay, the room had everything I needed and was very clean. The TV and streaming services worked better than anywhere else on my three-week road trip, including Netflix, Stan and Disney. The motel is also well placed for the beach, shops, pub and the excellent Chinese restaurant next door, which I highly recommend. One warning from my stay in room #19: the upstairs balcony rooms can have people smoking and drinking there at 11pm. I'd pick a ground-floor room with parking out front. Cheers 🥂

The room and location were good, but I felt uneasy for the whole stay. After I came out of the bathroom, the door was open even though I'd checked several times that it was locked. Checkout was 10 AM, yet a staff member knocked 20 minutes beforehand to ask whether I was leaving. They must have known I was due to check out that day, so I couldn't understand why they came to my door. It seemed suspicious, and I didn't feel safe.
