Comfort Inn Eastern Sands

We booked two nights but left after one and had to find somewhere else because of the room's condition. The owner showed no interest when I raised it. I would never stay there again or recommend it. The motel was far below the website description. We'd upgraded to a deluxe room, but it was disgraceful as soon as we walked in: dirty, untidy linen and a very grotty bathroom. The shower pipes sounded like a chainsaw. I put a service request on the door at 7:00am. It hadn't been done when we returned at 9:30am, and I had to ask at the desk at 1:45pm. A man eventually came while I waited in my car, where I could see him leave after three minutes with two wet towels. Inside, I was devastated by the result: no fresh towels, untouched dishes, and both beds pulled up messily.

We walked straight out on arrival. The property looked nothing like the booking site photos and seemed dirty, neglected and poorly maintained. Outside our door was an overflowing ashtray, despite the motel saying it was smoke-free. The parking area was filthy, the outdoor furniture was corroded, and the towels were threadbare.

We stayed for two nights, and I had to clean the room myself. There were stains on the walls, dirty cups and toilet, no mattress protector, torn curtains, and spider webs running from the lamp to the wardrobe. The worst part was the lack of privacy at reception: the person handed me a key and announced my room number while other people were in the room. Someone beside me said it was his favourite room. Awful.

The booking site said cable TV, but we could only get three free-to-air channels. When we asked staff how to access cable, they said they didn't know how to work the TV and couldn't help. They were unhelpful and unapologetic. The office was unattended at checkout, so I've contacted the motel. We got back late and found the shower hadn't been cleaned: quite a lot of male body hair was in the base and throughout the shower, dried nose mucus was on the tiled wall, and soap had dried on the glass door. It was too late to contact staff or ask to move rooms. The towels were also badly worn, with shredded hems.
