The hotel is well placed for getting around on foot, and my room was spacious and very clean. I did have to phone for the access code because I never received it. A few things could be better in the room: there were no hooks or shelves, the pillows were uncomfortable and the shower pressure was weak. Some inconsiderate, rude guests ignored the 9pm-9am quiet hours. There wasn’t a $10 voucher, though the 25% discount at Farmdog Brewing was good. I stayed for two nights.

I enjoyed my stay and would come back. I needed a cosy room for one night, and that’s what I got, even without a window. Being out of my comfort zone with no reception turned out much better than I expected. The room and bed were comfortable, and the shower was good. I appreciated the lotion, toothbrush and shaving kit, and the herbal teas were lovely despite there being no milk. Cafes were conveniently close for coffee. I couldn’t get the TV working, so I read books I borrowed for the day from the library next to the art gallery. The carpet hadn’t been cleaned properly, and there was no hair conditioner. When I needed help, I got it, which was great.

The room was spacious and spotless, and the bathroom was immaculate. We also had coffee and tea making facilities. The self-serve check-in and check-out went smoothly, and getting there from the train station was easy. We were pleasantly surprised by our mini stay at The Electric Hotel in Geelong. Great value for money, and we’d happily recommend it.

The hosts were fantastic and helped us straight away over the phone when we got locked out of our room. Check-in was extremely easy, as it’s a self check-in accommodation. The hotel is right in the centre of town, with everything just a couple of minutes’ walk away. The rooms are absolutely stunning, and it’s a beautiful place to stay. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Geelong.

The room was great, and checking in by yourself was easy. But I didn’t know there was a nightclub nearby. From 11 pm until 7 am, the constant bass and noise made it impossible to sleep. If you’re a light sleeper or have young kids with you, be especially mindful on weekends.
