No one seemed to be around when we needed help. Reception was unattended and calls went unanswered, so we couldn't get extra towels. The Wi-Fi didn't work either. The room needs some attention, with patchy walls and a fan that looked ready to fall from the ceiling. Save yourself the trip.

The stairwell handrails were held together with black tape and wire ties, and the place clearly needs repairs and a proper clean. During our one-night stay, the tea towel had food on it and the cups were badly stained. I woke up with bed bug bites all over me. What a waste of my money. I can't believe places can get away with standards like this.

We'd stay here again on a Gold Coast holiday. The location is excellent and close to everything, and the pool was clean with friendly staff. Our two-bedroom apartment worked well for our family of four over three nights, and for what we paid it was a good experience. The room wasn't perfectly clean, but acceptable. The blinds need an upgrade: sunrise around 4:40 a.m. let in so much light that none of us got enough sleep.

The location and pool are why I'm giving two stars. There was no lift, and the air conditioning was a problem from the start: none in the bedrooms, and the living room unit was broken. We were told it needed replacing, but it wasn't, and there was no alternative until the next day. The makeshift bathroom attached to the 'master' bedroom had mold. We were also told we'd have to clean everything before leaving or face a cleaning fee.
