Camden Motor Inn

The room was far below acceptable hospitality standards and felt uncomfortable throughout. It didn’t look like the photos: there was a strong unpleasant smell, dust on the floor and windows, stained furniture, cracked tiles, a damaged TV and a dirty microwave. There was also a lot of noise at night. When I contacted the motel, they said the price was among the cheapest in the area, but that doesn’t excuse a dirty, poorly maintained room. They asked me for photos, which I sent, then didn’t respond for days. I had to follow up, and only then they refused a refund. Posting this so future guests know what to expect.

The price was good, and the room had enough cooking facilities. It was clean and roomy, with a comfortable bed. The location worked really well for us. I'd gladly stay again.

The bunk beds squeaked terribly, and there wasn't a space available in the accommodation parking. The room also had a strong chemical, bleach-like smell.

The staff were great, the place was very clean, and the price was competitive. I'd stay again, though the bathroom had a few annoying issues. The hot water took a while and initially had us thinking there was none at all. My partner tried both shower taps first and couldn't get hot water. I figured she might have mixed them up 😆, but I had the same problem. At the basin, the hot tap ran nearly full for about a minute before warming up, then finally got hot. Back in the shower, it took another 20 seconds or so. The shower pressure was lower than the basin's, so it might have taken even longer if we'd only tried the shower. Its hot and cold taps were loose and faced the opposite way from the basin taps. The next morning, hot water came through in under 20 seconds. The toilet paper was the bargain, train-station kind, which I didn't think still existed. There was no bathroom exhaust fan either, a minor nuisance. Next time I'll bring my own toilet paper.
