Kirra Beach Tourist Park

We spent 10 days here, so got to know the park pretty well. The pool is great, and the park has food vans on some days, which was a nice option. Our site was okay but had a strange smell. The beach isn’t as close as claimed: you have to cross a main road, walk a long way over sand, and only then reach the water. There are no dog-friendly beaches nearby, and the signs clearly say dogs aren’t allowed. Shops and cafes are limited and some distance away. If you’re bringing a dog, remember to use your free dog wash token.

We ended up booking somewhere else and got a much warmer, more accommodating response. I’d previously stayed at the park in our mobile home for 3.5 weeks in summer 2025 under my partner’s name, though I’m hesitant to give details. We would have considered different accommodation, including powered or unpowered sites if available, although those weren’t our first choice because our bikes and trailers were stolen overnight during the last stay. I’m updating this because the public reply described the phone call in a way that doesn’t match what happened from my perspective. I was disappointed with reception at Kirra Tourist Parks. I explained that our family was flexible and willing to pay for multiple rooms; our priority was finding accommodation. At no point were alternative dates, lodge combinations or camping sites offered, despite what the reply said. The manner on the phone felt abrupt and dismissive. I didn’t feel heard, was spoken over several times, and the call ended before we could properly discuss my enquiry. It left me feeling like an inconvenience. What bothered me most was the public suggestion that options had been offered and declined, because that wasn’t the conversation. I hope this is taken constructively, as reception shapes guests’ first impression and how welcome they feel.

The grounds were immaculate, with grassy sites and clean facilities. We had a lovely caravan stay at Kirra Beach Tourist Park, and the staff were so friendly, always saying hello and happy to have a chat. We’ll definitely stay again.

We give it 10 out of 10. The sites are spacious, clean and dog-friendly, and the staff in the office are so friendly and explain everything. Housekeeping and maintenance always wave, smile and are happy to help with questions. The best caravan park on the Gold Coast.
