Maldives Resort

We were excited for our first big holiday together, but as soon as we entered the room we wanted to leave. The shower had mold, the room smelled strongly of urine, and there were urine stains on the carpet. There were pads around the room, dirty cutlery and pillowcases, black hair in the bed, and dirty towels left in the washing machine. Nobody seemed to believe us or help. A cleaner came at 9pm, but that didn’t fix the smell, and the cutlery was still dirty afterward. They refused to move us to another room, so we demanded a full refund so we could stay somewhere else. We wanted to leave that night, but were made to stay. Horrible experience. I’d give zero stars if I could.

Getting locked out was the worst part. My young daughter had just come out of the pool and was freezing, with her towel and dry clothes inside the room. I explained the urgency, but was told to wait three hours because staff were at dinner. After those three hours, I was told it would be a few more. That level of disregard for a child’s wellbeing was inexcusable. The staff I dealt with were rude, arrogant and showed no empathy. The room was also badly neglected. There were stains on the sheets and walls, and the hygiene was questionable enough that it was hard to feel comfortable or sleep well. This Motel was one of the worst places I’ve stayed. Unclean rooms and appalling service make for a miserable stay, and I’d strongly advise people to look elsewhere.

Cigarette smoke everywhere, and everyone was complaining about people smoking inside. Reception did nothing. The place is disgusting and needs a deep clean and renovations. No stars from me. Don’t bother.

Nice resort in a great location. The room could use a few small fixes, but it was great overall.
