Maxmee Resort Hostel

If you’re on a budget, I’d highly recommend staying here. We booked in person, and the staff were amazing. They helped us through the booking process and showed us the rooms before we paid. Everyone was very helpful and made the booking easy and accommodating. It’s been a great stay, with a bar, pool, and great accommodation.

We paid a decent amount for two nights and felt ripped off. The website description, facilities, and photos hide how cramped, noisy, and disgusting the place is. It’s misleading when you book. The kitchen was so gross that we took one look and didn’t go back in. I wouldn’t eat anything from there. Nothing seemed clean, the fridges were crammed with bags and old food, and the facilities were grim. The dorm was overcrowded and clearly not cleaned regularly. The shared bathroom was just as bad, full of rubbish. It was busy and noisy at night, with people coming and going the whole time and disturbing us. We didn’t feel safe either, as if our things could be stolen. Thankfully we only stayed two nights. I don’t know how this place has positive reviews. Avoid it.

The rooms felt dated and not the cleanest because they’re old, but it’s cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for. The staff were all welcoming and really helpful, and the kitchen and common areas were always clean. It’s just outside the busy area, with a tram stop across the road, which makes the location pretty much perfect.

A great stay at this hostel. The staff were really friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with whatever I needed. I’d definitely stay here again!
